Aurélie NAKAMURA

Postdoctoral researcher

I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Environmental Epidemiology Team at IAB in Grenoble since October 2020, with and under the supervision of Valérie Siroux (since 2024) and Johanna Lepeule (since 2020). Previously, I was an intern (2016-2017) and then a PhD student (2017-2020) in the Social Epidemiology Research Team (IPLESP, Paris) and an intern (2013) and then a research assistant (2014-2015) in the Systems Epidemiology Team (University of Tromsø, Norway).

My research focuses on the effects of prenatal environmental exposures (tobacco, psychosocial stress) and their interactions on parental postpartum mental health and on the child's early development and health (neurodevelopment, respiratory health), as well as the study of underlying social and epigenetic mechanisms through the analysis of cohort data (EDEN, ELFE). It contributes to increase the knowledge in the research fields of the developmental origins of health and disease (DOHaD), social inequalities in health across the life course, perinatal psychiatry, and causal inference. My work is enriched by multidisciplinary collaborations.

In parallel, I have been a lecturer in epidemiology at the University of Grenoble Alpes since 2022, after having taught statistics and epidemiology at the IUT Paris-Cité (formerly Paris-Descartes) between 2017 and 2024.
