IAB Members Rally for the Triathlon des Roses
22 October 2026
IAB staff members came together for the Triathlon des Roses, a sporting and charitable event that combines pushing one’s limits with a commitment to breast cancer research. This meaningful initiative serves as a reminder of just how essential collective action is to support scientific progress.
Sport in Support of Research
Seven IAB members took on the athletic challenge of the Triathlon des Roses this month in Lyon, channeling their energy and determination toward a major public health cause: the fight against breast cancer.
Sharing a common desire to push themselves to the limit to support research, they successfully completed the challenge in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Created in 2014 by the ARC Foundation for Cancer Research as part of Pink October, the Triathlon des Roses raises public awareness and collects funds essential to advancing scientific knowledge. Every participant, every donation, and every act of support helps move this cause forward.
Supporting Research to Better Understand and Fight Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is a major public health issue. Despite the progress made in recent years in screening, diagnosis, and treatment, many scientific questions remain to be explored. And with 61,000 cases per year and 12,000 deaths, breast cancer remains both the most common and the deadliest form of cancer among women in France.
Research is therefore essential to better understand the biological mechanisms underlying these cancers, identify new therapeutic approaches, improve patient care, and develop treatments that are increasingly effective and tailored to each individual’s situation.
By taking part in the Triathlon des Roses challenge, participants are doing their part to give researchers the resources they need to continue their work and advance the fight against breast cancer.
A Collective Commitment That Makes a Difference
In 2025, the Triathlon des Rose raised nearly 730,000€ nationwide. This year, in Lyon alone, 58,193€ was raised.
Through their commitment, generosity, and solidarity, every participant and every donor contributes directly to the effort to fund research.
The IAB warmly congratulates Magali Maizi, Geneviève Chevalier, Paul Fourquin, Nidia Maldonado Carmona, Mylène Pezet, Maellys Thurloy, and Loana Torres for their dedication and commitment, and thanks all donors for their support and generosity!
