1st Conference on Environmental Epigenetics

1st Conference on Environmental Epigenetics

From 05/10 to 07/10/2026

The human population is exposed to a number of environmental factors, that can have an impact on health. Mutagens – that is, substances that damage the genome – are quite well understood but our knowledge of ‘epimutagens’ remains rudimentary with research lacking of interdisciplinary collaboration.

The approach of the France Environmental Epigenetics Research Group (GDR FREE), created in 2025 by the CNRS, structures the French scientific community addressing this issue through four complementary angles: Epidemiology, Toxicology, Chemistry, and Molecular Biology, to achieve a mechanistic understanding of the environment’s influence on the epigenome.

The GDR-FREE 2026 congress will take place from the 5th to 7th October 2026 at the IAB Amphitheatre in Grenoble. It will bring together students, postdoctoral researchers, researchers and academic staff from the community and favour discussion and scientific exchanges.
